Stop by for an appetizer and a drink and become part of Calgary’s wordsmithing history.
The recently formed Calgary twig of the Editors’ Association of Canada invites all Calgary-area editors to an informal social get-together on Thursday, June 18, starting at 5 p.m. We’ll meet in the upper section of the Raw Bar at the Hotel Arts, 119 12th Ave. S.W. Your first drink is on us!
This is a chance to meet other Calgary editors and to talk about what events and professional development opportunities you would support in the months and years ahead.
Attendance at this social is not limited to current or prospective members of the EAC. If you want to show up and check us out, feel free to drop in for a few minutes or stay for an hour or two.
If you can make it to our inaugural social, please RSVP by June 15 with your name to email@example.com. We’ll be sticking around until about 7:30 p.m.
Editors Calgary is a twig of the EAC (Editors’ Association of Canada). The EAC is a national organization that connects editors, both in-house and freelance, from coast to coast to coast, offering discounts on resources, providing professional development and credentialing opportunities, and advocating for editors and their interests nationally and internationally. Twigs are local groups where editors can share in these benefits while building relationships and networking.
The Calgary twig is open to all editors in the Calgary area: both current and former EAC members and others who haven’t yet considered joining the association but are interested in opportunities for social engagement and professional development. The twig is only recently formed but is already planning a social event in June and a workshop in the fall, as well as forming study groups for those interested in preparing for the EAC certification exams.
